Opus One Moments Winery Experiences

What is the Estate’s Culinary Philosophy?

Plums in the Opus One Orchard

The Culinary Rock Garden is an introduction to the culinary philosophy that unfolds throughout the Opus One Estate – ornamental in design, yet deeply functional. Under the direction of Executive Chef Sean Koenig, a thoughtful collection of herbs and edible flowers, like oregano, geraniums, French thyme, dock, borage, calendula, and rosemary, inspires the seasonal canapés served year-round.

Delicate blossoms provide color and fragrance, while savory herbs contribute depth and nuance, allowing the menu to evolve naturally.

The Rock Garden is one expression of a broader culinary ecosystem that also includes the Orchard and Raised Garden, where fruits and vegetables continue to shape the creative process. Together, these spaces reflect a commitment to hyper-local sourcing and an approach that values seasonality, stewardship, and a profound sense of place.

What begins in the garden finds its way to the table, where each canapé is thoughtfully paired to complement the wines and enhance the experience of the Estate.
