Visiting the Estate

For each guest, our hope and intent is to provide a serene and unhurried ambiance in which to enjoy the layered complexity of our wine.

Due to finite allocations of our wine and the popularity of our location, we see guests by appointment only.  We are open by appointment every day between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm with the exception of New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Opus One welcomes those in the trade as well as the general public. You must be at least 21 years of age to taste or enjoy a tour at Opus One.

Guests with appointments for either a tour or a tasting are welcome to visit the Terrace or other public areas within the winery. 

Tour Appointments

Guests can choose between two tour experiences:

• For an overview of Opus One's history, aesthetics, vineyards and winemaking, guests may join the Estate Tour daily at 1:30 pm or 2:30 pm. This visit progresses through both the public and production spaces of the winery and ends with a taste of the current vintage of Opus One. This tour is $60 per person and is limited to groups of 6 (12 guests total). Please allow 90 minutes.
• For those familiar with the winery, we also offer an abbreviated tour with senior staff culminating in a seated, guided tasting of two vintages of Opus One. This Double Vintage Tour & Tasting if available daily at 10:30 am and provides an opportunity for an in-depth discussion of selected vintages. This tour is $90 per person and is limited to groups of 4 (6 guests total). Please allow 120 minutes.

Tasting Appointments

Since we make and release only one wine per vintage, we do not offer small tastings of multiple wines. However, guests can purchase a taste of the current vintage in our Partners’ Room for $40. At any given time of the year, we hope to offer the current release and at least one additional vintage.
