Opus One Moments Our Wines

What Makes Opus One 2023 an Exceptional Expression of Classic Wine?

Opus One 2023

On October 1st, we are delighted to introduce Opus One 2023.

Praised by Winemaker Michael Silacci as an exceptional expression of a classic vintage, Opus One 2023 reflects a growing season defined by abundant winter rainfall, a temperate summer, and a measured harvest that preserved freshness, balance, and elegance. The season unfolded steadily, allowing fruit to develop at an even pace and resulting in a wine of remarkable harmony and precision.

Opus One 2023 opens with aromas of red fruit, cherry blossom, and dried violet, layered with notes of graphite, forest floor, and tobacco. Silky tannins frame a balanced palate of elderberry, cassis, black pepper, and chocolate-covered orange peel, culminating in a long, graceful finish. Both vibrant and structured, the wine balances youthful brightness with the depth and complexity that promise exceptional aging.

Composed of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec, Opus One 2023 was aged for 19 months in French oak and reflects the enduring pursuit of excellence that defines our Oakville Estate.
